Infinite graphs with finite diameters

(in English) Recently, new stochastic processes have been proposed for analyzing structured data with combinatorial constraints. Particularly, constructing an infinite graph model is a challenge facing Bayesian nonparametrics field, whose unique existence needs to be theoretically guaranteed in the limit of infinite vertices. However, few studies have successfully embedded characteristics of real world networks into such infinite graph models. Here we focus on the small-world effect, which appears in many real world networks, and propose a new infinite graph model. The diameters of conventional small-world graph models, such as the well-known Watts & Strogatz model, are known to increase logarithmically with the number of vertices, while those of our model are upper-bounded by a constant, even in the limit of infinite vertices.
