Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) To elucidate the neural computation mechanisms of sensory-motor mismatch in the brain, virtual reality (VR) experimental system is useful because it allows precise control of the sensory feedback. We have been developing a VR experimental system for mice that are suitable for studies at molecular and cellular levels. However, it was found that sensory-motor mismatch, due to visual aliasing, occurred depending on the running speed of the mouse and setup of the VR environment. In this study, as a simple example, we constructed a one-dimensional corridor of which vertical stripes are drawn on both sides of the walls, modeled the visual feedback in the corridor and analyzed the conditions to avoid the visual aliasing phenomena. This result would be useful to design the VR corridor for mice experiment without visual aliasing phenomena.
