Though the multi-layer F-SIR (Folded-Stepped Impedance Resonator) structure had been proposed, the wideband negative GD (Group Delay) characteristics is required. In this study, the embedded multi-layer F-SIR structure is newly proposed, in which the resonator of the uppermost layer is embedded in the dielectric to suppress changes of the effective dielectric constant. Designing negative GD and slope characteristics was empirically discussed by changing the number of the embedded open-stub F-SIR and the length of the resonator. Resonance and anti-resonance frequencies were able to be controlled, and then the feasibility of wideband negative GD with linear slope was demonstrated. |
