Recent research indicates that main attention of quality assurance of higher education has been directed to the internal quality assurance (IQA) based approach. However, the difference of university’s recognition of the IQA system of teaching and learning makes it difficult to perform the evaluation for both universities and evaluation institutions. Therefore, this study examines the diversities of universities’ interpretation of the IQA system using the text-mining approach from the past self-evaluation reports. Morphological analysis was used to extract words that indicated the IQA system from self-evaluation reports. The patterns of frequently referred indicators and evidences showed the annual changes and cluster analysis revealed the patterns of universities’ recognition of the IQA system. These results are useful for setting the standardized indicators and evidences for measuring the IQA system.
