Mixed noise removal of hyperspectral images by hybrid spatio-spectral total variation reguralization

(in English) Since hyperspectral image (HSI) contains rich spectral information, it has been recognized as a key technology in many fields. Meanwhile, various noises are inevitable when we capture an HSI, so that some noise removal methods are required. This paper propose a new method of removing mixed noise in an HSI. Specifically, our method considers not only Gaussian noise but also textit{Sparse noise} (e.g., impulse noise and line noise), and it utilizes Hybrid Spatio-Spectral Total Variation (HSSTV), which is an effective regularization technique for HSIs based on their spatial and spectral smoothness. The mixed noise removal problem is formulated as a constrained convex optimization problem that takes the characteristics of both noise into account, and then it is efficiently solved by the so-called alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). Experiments on denoising of a mixed noise demonstrate the advantage of HSSTV over state-of-the-art methods.
