Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Thermoacoustic phenomenon can realize a cooling system with unutilized energy such as waste heat. Yazaki et al. developed the looped-tube thermoacoustic system (looped-tube type) which converts energy by a traveling wave phase. Energy conversion efficiency with traveling wave phase is higher than that with standing wave phase. However, the loop-tube type has a problem for downsizing. As the one of the method of improvement way, the coaxial thermoacoustic system (coaxial type) is proposed. Coaxial type is compact compared with loop-tube type and able to do energy conversion with traveling wave phase. To improve a cooling capacity, this paper investigates the effect of a position of a prime mover on energy conversion. As the results, it is suggested that position of a prime mover improves a cooling capacity. However, it is suggested that effect of acoustic streaming and viscous boundary layer decrease a cooling capacity in particular positions of a prime mover.
