Fundamental Consideration of Passband Design for Electromagnetically-Coupled Half-Wavelength Resonator Filters

(in English) Recently,many small base stations are installed additionally. But, duplexer occupies about half of the volume of a small base station.Thus, further miniaturization of filter is required. Attenuation outside the passband will become steeper by forming attenuation pole near the passband.As a result, a small filter with a fewer number of resonators can be used. The objective of this study is to establish an analytical design method for half-wavelength coupled-resonator filters. In the preceding study, it was confirmed that three attenuation pole frequencies were calculated analytically, and a good passband characteristic was obtained. But,influences of electrical length of coupled-lines and the couplingwere not considered.Thus,circuit parameters which achieve three designated attenuation pole frequencies and desired passband characteristic cannot be obtained as solutions of an inverse problem. So,the influencesof electrical length and coupling on attenuation pole frequencies and passband characteristic were simulated.And design charts for designing passband characteristic was created. It was shown that desired passband characteristic and three attenuation pole frequencies could be set to desired values. Finally, the filter performance designed based on this technique was confirmed.
