CMOS-compatible Temperature and Illuminance Sensor for Solar-cell-embedded Chip

(in English) This paper proposes a temperature and illuminance sensor circuit that operates with about 0.5 V supply voltage harvested from on-chip solar cell to realize a CMOS-compatible sensor chip composed of on-chip solar cells and a temperature sensor without using any external components. The proposed method estimates environmental temperature using three ring oscillators with different temperature and voltage characteristics. Circuit simulation and chip measurement results suggest that temperature and supply voltage can be estimated using the proposed method.
