Magneto-optic spatial light modulator (MOSLM) controls light intensity depending on the direction of magnetization and has the highest driving speed among the similar devices. However, the continuous drive and the increase in size were difficult because of Joule heat due to the current needed to drive MOSLM. So, voltage-driven MOSLM is desired for low power consumption. Recently, magnetization of multiferroic nanocomposite in which magnetic columns were embedded in piezoelectric material matrix was reported to be reversed by voltage. In this study, multiferroic composites using magnetic garnet and PZT were fabricated and investigated their properties by voltage for applying multiferroic composite to MOSLM. As a result, the multiferroic composite shows remanent polarization as high as that of single layer film. |
