A study on Frequency Identification of Received RF Signal in Wideband Direct RF Undersampling Frequency Sensor

(in English) Recently, with the popularization of wireless IoT (Internet of Things), real time frequency sensing technology for multi bands (920 MHz band, 2.4 GHz band, 5-6 GHz band) used by wireless IoT devices is required. A direct RF undersampling frequency sensor for a cognitive radio that directly samples an RF signal have been reported as a method of sensing multiple frequency bands all at once and real time using a single receiver. However, since the total of the measurement bandwidths can’t exceed 1/2 of the sampling frequency, widen measurement bandwidth is desired. We proposed a direct RF undersampling frequency sensor with a measured frequency bandwidth exceeding 1/2 of the sampling frequency, which proposes a method of specifying the frequency of the received RF signal by switching the sampling frequency more than once, and its clock frequency switching conditions were examined. By applying this condition, numerical calculation shows that the receiving RF frequency can be specified by approximately once switching the clock frequency. Further demonstration experiment using prototype S/H IC was performed, and it was confirmed that this proposal is effective also in the received waveform actually obtained.
