This paper presents a nonlinear equalization scheme for single carrier transmission in order to realize the wideband transmission of radio communication. We can compensate both the nonlinear distortion caused by an amplifier and the linear distortion derived from band pass filters by the proposed scheme. Our scheme introduces the nonlinear equalization scheme based on memory polynomial in order to reduce the number of filter coefficents which is required to estimate in Volterra equalizer. With the proposed scheme, we can obtain equalization output with the automatic estimation of the coefficients of linear and nonlinear filter by decision-directed LMS (Least Mean Square) algorithm after initial estimation of linear component with known symbols. The simulation result shows the improvement of receiver performance of APSK transmission in the environment which constains both linear and
nonlinear distortion. |
