Ultrasonic transmission spectroscopy is a nondestructive and non-contacting technique to evaluate the elasticity of particles dispersed in liquid. So far, a good agreement between the experiments and ultrasonic scattering theories was confirmed for polystyrene particles and its derivatives. However, beside the success in the elastic particle as well as the liquid droplets, the viscoelasticity of particles were not examined so far. In this study, crosslinked polydimethylsiloxane particles were synthesized. Then, the viscoelasticity of the particles in suspension were determined by a novel viscoelastic ECAH analysis. |
