In classification task solving, “pattern recognition” and “abstraction” are indispensable activities. In order to conduct the classification, “algorithm” to conduct it is necessary. Then, because the algorithm is usually stepwise classification, the classification task is decomposed in the classification process. Therefore, classification task includes the basic four components of computational thinking. In this research, a learning environment is designed and developed where learners are provided with (i) classification task, (ii) necessary and sufficient components of Yes/No chart for the classification task, (iii) necessary and sufficient components of visual programming for the chart, and then, requested (1) compose Yes/No chart, (2) programming for a conversational robot, (3) conduction of categorization through conversation with the programmed robot, and (4) examination and revision of the chart and/or the program with result the classification. Programming for a conversation robot is a realization of “learning by teaching”. The behavior of the robot is used as error visualization. Then, it is also design meta-problem as comparison between different charts combined by the same resources or different resources. |
