GNSS which is used for aircraft navigation is vulnerable because GNSS signals from the satellite are weak. Construction and implementation of an alternative positioning method, which is called APNT (Alternate Position Navigation and Timing), is one of the issues at ICAO to maintain safety and efficiency of air traffic control in case of GNSS signal loss. Standardization of Near-term APNT utilizing DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) has started in Europe (EUROCAE WG-107). Integrity assurance of the DME ground station will be required to apply DME to Near-term APNT. The authors focused on an atmospheric propagation delay which affects the SiS (Signal in Space) performance. This paper clarifies the impact of DME ranging error caused by the atmospheric propagation delay on the integrity assurance. |
