Yielding Operation in Encounters with Emergency Vehicles and Analysis of Driver's Operation -- The vehicle to vehicle communication and its problem toward automated driving cars --

(in English) There are other difficult problems for the automated driving cars in the case of running on the public road. One of the problems is the coexistence with emergency vehicles. According to the preceding study, the vehicle to vehicle communication has the advantages comparing with other medias, in terms of earlier recognition of the emergency car and possibility of the early yielding operation. On the other hand, the actual experiment shows not combining together of the early recognition and early yielding operation. The analysis and consideration of the driver’s behavior in encounters with emergency vehicles are reported.
