Fabrication of Three-Sides-Seamless Transparent PMOLED

(in English) Since the liquid crystal panel is semi-transparent except for the backlight, it can be a transparent display. but it can be used only in a limited place because of a non-light emitting display. On the other hand, organic light emitting display (OLED) has sufficiently high transmittance using transparent cathode electrodes. In addition, since the OLED emits light itself, a sufficient clear image can be provided if it emits light brighter than the background. In addition, since the window has a very large space in a room or a car, the transparent display is very effective as an information transimission device. Therefore, we aim at developing a transparent OLED with high transmittance and high brightness instead of high definition. Thus, a display with high brightness and high visibility can be obtained. It can normally be used as a window when it is off, and it can be used as a lighting device when it is on, which gives an unprecedented concept. In this study, the number of scanning lines is not so large that a passive-matrix (PM) driving which is advantageous in aperture ratio and process time is used and also we tried to make a three-side-seamless PMOLED.
