We aim to develop a drug screening system based on a reconstitution system, in which an ion channel is embedded in an artificial bilayer lipid membrane. We have reported the formation of a stable lipid bilayer membrane (BLM) based on silicon (Si) microfabrication and the method for promotion of embedding ion channels in the membranes. Here, we applied the BLM system to quantitative assessment of drug side effects on cell-free synthesized hERG channel proteins. |
