Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Thermoacoustic systems have the potential to solve environmental issues, which have become a problem in recent years, because they can be driven by waste heat. The present group is studying the coaxial type thermoacoustic system (coaxial type). The coaxial type is capable of energy conversion at traveling wave phase, where the efficiency is high, and has advantage for miniaturization compared to the loop tube type because of the linear shape. In the previous research, the installation position of the prime mover (PM) was changed in order to improve the cooling capacity. It was confirmed that the cooling capacity was improved by the installation position of PM, but it was suggested that the cooling capacity was lowered because the resonance shifted from the fundamental mode to the secondary mode when the installation position of PM approached the pipe end. In this study, installing additional PM where the secondary mode is difficult to excite, it was confirmed that the secondary mode decreased and the sound pressure in the fundamental mode increased.
