Study on Safety and Operability of Electric Wheelchair Interface using Pressure Distribution

(in English) As an interface for an electric wheelchair to replace the joystick, we aim to put into practical use of an interface using a seat pressure distribution caused by a posture change of the user. In order to examine safety and operability, running tests were conducted by changing in which the inclination angle upper body and the sitting position. As the results test, it was confirmed forward movement can be performed with high accuracy. Both the inclination angle of the upper body and the sitting position affects stop and backward movement and repeatability of posture.
