Irregular repetition slotted ALOHA based on non-orthogonal multiple acces (IRSA-NOMA) utilizes stochastic power control to leverage capture effects and achieves higher throughput than original Irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA). It is obvious that the average consumed power should be limitted for fair comparison, but this limitation has not been considered in the literature. In this paper, the throughput performances of coded ALOHA with and without stochastic power contorol are studied in consideration of the average consumed power constraint. Numerical results obtained by density evolution and computer simulations reveal that coded ALOHA with equal transmitting power control, namely without stochastic power control, achieves the best performance under the constraint. |
