Performance evaluations of position detection method using unmanned aerial vehicles based on maximum positioning error estimation method
Yuki Horikawa, Hiroyasu Ishikawa (Nihon Univ.) SAT2019-16
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A typical Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) is composed of several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and a ground station. It is possible to detect a user position by observing Doppler shifts caused in the transmission/reception signals between the UAVs and the user terminal. We previously proposed the maximum positioning error estimation method based on the positioning accuracy index for the position detection method using UAVs, and verified its effectiveness by computer simulation. In this research, the maximum positioning error estimation method is utilized to characterize the accuracy of user position detection in a model that two UAVs with circularly flying routes, and their performance evaluation results are reported by changing the height separation and the rotational phase offset between two UAVs.
