Numerical calculation of unstable periodic points in the logistic map based on the symbolic dynamics

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we propose a numerical method to calculate unstable periodic points in the chaos of the logistic map. The method is based on symbolic dynamics. We define two maps whose inverted map is the logistic map to make the orbit of the system have a degree of freedom, and derive the UPP corresponding to an arbitrary sequence. In numerical experiments, we derive the periodic points with the period of 1-6, 10, and 20 and confirm the validity of the proposed method. We also introduce an index to guarantee the convergence of the calculation and evaluate the adaptivity of the method.
