Biometric Authentication Using Multivariate Autoregressive Coefficients for Photic Driving Response

(in English) In recent years, various biometrics such as fingerprints and veins have become widespread. However, there is a problem that the biometric feature cannot be changed even if the feature as a password is leaked. In this study, we propose a biometric authentication method using photic driving response generated when visual stimuli are presented to subjects at regular intervals. Using photic driving response as biological features, we can change the biological features by changing characteristics of the visual stimulus such as the interval. The repetitive stimuli generate stationary waveform. We therefore applied a multivariate autoregressive model to photic drive responses because of the stationarity. Here, autoregressive coefficients were used as features for authentication. As a result, the maximum certification rate showed 92.8% for 15 registered subjects.
