To realize the mode division multiplexing transmission, we have proposed a volume holographic mode de-multiplexer (VHDM) that separates multiple spatial modes by volume holograms with a single element. In VHDM, since a recording medium has poor sensitivity for the infrared light, the recording and reproduction of volume hologram are performed by using visible light and infrared light respectively. However, VHDM has a very low diffraction efficiency in the reproduction at the wavelength of 1550 nm when the recording condition such as the exposure amount and the thickness of the recording medium is not enough. Therefore, we measured the changes in diffraction efficiency under several conditions for the exposure amount during recording and the wavelength during reproduction. As a result, it was shown that the diffraction efficiency improved 3.1 times when the exposure amount is set to 4 times the conventional exposure. |
