(in English) The surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor is known to act as an ultrasound sensor which can detect acoustic wave in the wide and high frequency range. For designing the SPR sensor, it is important to understand the response of optical properties to the elastic and thermal changes. In this study, we have fabricated a Kretschmann type SPR sensor and have observed its optical response to thermoelastic transient stress by a sub-nanosecond pump-probe technique. In particular, we compared and examined the transient responses of the SPR sensor with the coupling medium of air or water.
