To prototype a wireless system that includes cancellation using a software defined radio (SDR), the channel impulse response (CIR) must be measured under actual operating conditions. In this case, the CIR contains the characteristics of the D/A and A/D converters, filters, cables and other components. Another application requires an accurate CIR that does not include the characteristics of those components. To solve these problems, this paper describes CIR measurement method using maximum length sequences on USRP X300 SDR devices. The amplitude / phase error of the CIR measured under the sampling frequency of Fsb=20MHz and the carrier frequency of Fc=920MHz, were less than 0.2 dB / 1.2 degrees compared to a vector network analyzer (VNA). It was shown that the amplitude and phase characteristics obtained from the CIR measurement results between the transmitting and receiving antennas installed in a laboratory are similar to those of the VNA. The proposed method cancels the characteristics of the measurement system using an approximate inverse system based on the delayed inverse. This makes it possible to avoid the division operation in the frequency domain. |
