With the diversification of communication applications in the wireless communication environment, high-throughput satellites (HTSs), which aim to increase the communication capacity and communication flexibility, are attracting attention in the field of satellite communication. In the current HTSs, the allocation of communication resources is fixed after launch, so that the efficiency of communication resource utilization is reduced when traffic requests are uneven in time and geography. To solve this problem, various control functions such as digital beamforming (DBF), digital channelizer and beam hopping have been incorporated into HTSs to improve the efficiency of communication resource allocation in recent years. In order to realize flexible power resource allocation according to the geographical distribution of traffic requirements, our research group has been studying on a simultaneous control of the transmit power and the size of the beam directivity of each spot beam and a multi-spot beam placement optimization to improve the total system throughput in the entire coverage area for a DBF-based HTS communication system. In this paper, as an extension of these studies, we propose a flexible resource allocation model that combines these studies using an HTS communication system with DBF. |
