Wireless Power Transfer for Waterway-Cruising Ships with 3 Electrodes

(in English) The feature of high dielectric constant of water can be expected to have the effect of strengthening the coupling in an electrically coupled system by use of strong coupling between 2 electrodes, although, depending on the arrangement of the electrodes, the increase in unnecessary capacitance may lead to a decrease in transmission efficiency. To make matters worse, Due to the dissolved electrolyte, the conduction current loss increases, leading to an increase in transmission loss. In this report, the number, arrangement, and dimensions of electrodes are considered to optimize the balance of these interests. In this method, it is standard to use four electrodes, but here, the transmission efficiency is improved by a three-electrode system that replaces the transmission ground electrode with the earth, and it can be used in an environment where it is not appropriate to install a transmission ground electrode on the shore.
