Approximate Message-Passing in Spatial Modulation Massive MIMO Uplink

(in English) This paper addresses an uplink system in which a receiver with massive degrees of freedom in reception observes signals transmitted from a large number of users. Each user uses a single radio-frequency chain to employ spatial modulation (SM). In SM, one transmit antenna is selected to send a data symbol in each symbol period. This paper proposes approximate message-passing (AMP) as a high-performance and low-complexity demodulation method. The proposed AMP is shown to achieve better performance in demodulation than a conventional method based on compressed sensing via state evolution and numerical simulations.
