Since ultrasonic welding does not use heat, it can be easily welded with different metals with different melting points. However, the conventional ultrasonic welding uses one-dimensional linear vibration, and there is problems that the welding strength is low because of low vibration energy, and the welding becomes difficult depending on the size and installation direction of the welding sample. Then, authors have proposed an ultrasonic welding using two-dimensional planar vibration. In this paper, the welding experiment was performed by changing the length of the weld sample and the weld time. As the results, we found that the tensile shear strength and cross tensile strength of the welding using planer vibration were higher than those using linear vibration. |
