[Invited Lecture] A Study on Correlation between Automatic Speech Recognition Accuracy and Speech QoE

(in English) In recent years, as the quality of mobile networks has improved, it has become more critical to maintain and improve the subjective quality of experience (QoE) that customers experience and the objective quality of communication, such as the ability to connect or not connect.
The conventional voice QoE evaluation method, MOS, is not easy to implement because it requires many human resources. Also, QoE evaluation using objective evaluation methods requires a large amount of data acquisition, which is not easy to achieve.
On the other hand, W Jiang et al. reported a specific correlation between automatic speech recognition accuracy and MOS in a Lab environment. With the development of AI technology, automated speech recognition (ASR) is becoming more readily available. For these reasons, the evaluation of communication quality by ASR is becoming more and more realistic. If the correlation between ASR's speech recognition accuracy and MOS can be confirmed in a real environment, a simple speech QoE evaluation method using speech recognition results (text) can be realized.
Therefore, this paper describes a QoE evaluation method for mobile networks using ASR.
