This work discusses the microwave-power transfer (MPT) to a small done for the first step of research program on
wirelessly power charging to flying objects such as dron and HAPS. We propose to use a high-power magnetron and design
technique for lightweight Rx antenna based on flexible printed circuits (FPC). We introduce these techniques are useful for
providing a Rx power beyond average power consumption of the flying drone. In addition, we introduce the possibility to
mount the lightweight Rx antenna on the drone payload. In the transmission system, the 5.8 GHz injection-locking magnetron
is loaded. The output power of the magnetron is 883.1 W. In the Rx system, we estimate to array the 26 elements of antenna
and >45W Rx received. The Rx antenna based on CPW and CPS transmission lines on FPC is designed. The 2-way rectifiers
are mounted on the next stage of the antenna. The estimated Rx antenna weight is 0.58 g per element, which is possible to
mount the antenna array to the drone payload. |
