We consider the team assembling problem for a swarm of simple robots called Kilobots. The team assembling problem requires the robots to form teams according to a given specification. A Kilobot is equipped with very weak capabilities; it is not equipped with any camera sensor, has no access to the global coordinate system, and it can communicate with other Kilobots within its communication range. We propose a new theoretical model for Kilobots and provide a new distributed algorithm for the team assembling problem. To verify the applicability of the algorithm, we implement it on Kilobot simulator called Kilombo and on real Kilobots as well. |
