Delirium and its indication detection by multiscale CSIs

(in English) The onset of delirium of a patient not only prevents the treatment and nursing care, but also may causes to extend the hospitalization and to remain the aftereffect. So, its early detection and care are very important. The detection, however, requires the diagnosis by doctors and the observation by nurses are required to detect it, then the onset occurred in nighttime causes the late care to the patient.
In this study, we aim to detect delirium and its indication in early stage from the images of patients. For doing this, we use infrared cameras equipped above the ceiling. Then, our method can detect delirium contactlessly and can reduce the physical and mental burdens
on the patient. Here, by using multiple CSIs with different time scales from the video, we classify the status of the patient by combining results from the CNN which are corresponding to CSIs. This allows us to recognize motions with different time span with a
relatively simple network. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by experiments using actual patient images.
