Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Of the two major visual behaviors for low vision students in school learning, reading a textbook is possible by bringing their eyes extremely close or by enlarging the textbook using a magnified reading machine or a magnifying glass, but reading a blackboard on which letters or figures are written is to be in a difficult situation. The purpose of this study is to use the recently developed laser retina imaging technology that can project images directly onto the retina of low vision students, in addition to the educational support using an interactive whiteboard that we have provided so far. As a result, the information displayed on the interactive whiteboard can be presented in the most visible state for low vision students without any modification so that they can see it. Specifically, we aim for group education based on reasonable accommodation by conducting realistic simultaneous classes using an interactive whiteboard without distinguishing between sighted students and low vision ones. Furthermore, since the information on interactive whiteboard can be distributed to students' personal computers or tablets, it is also suitable for distance learning in coronavirus crisis. The interactive whiteboard system for low vision students in this study aims to have the following three functions: (1) A function that enlarges and presents the information that they want to see, (2) A function that guides their viewpoint and presents the information within the visible field when they have visual field impairment, (3) A function that can invert black and white or change contrast for the information according to the viewing environment.
