In multi-user MIMO systems, a base station suppresses inter-user-interferences using downlink channel state information (CSI) for each user and achieve high-data rate transmission.
We need to send pilot symbols frequently to obtain CSI in time varying environments.
Channel prediction, however, can reduce the frequency of pilot transmission.
Among channel prediction schemes, we can expect that the sum-of-sinusoids (SOS) method which separates, predicts, and reconstructs multipath components expands the prediction range of channels.
It has been proposed to realize SOS channel prediction using FISTA, a method of compressed sensing.
We need, however, to apply FISTA twice in the prediction, which requires large computational complexity.
In this paper, we propose SOS channel prediction that uses FISTA and the least-mean square method.
The technique needs FISTA only once, and the computational complexity is much less than the conventional method.
It is also shown that the proposed method achieves excellent channel prediction. |
