It is necessary to be able to acquire sufficient information from both the input and the database data for the ego-vehicle localization based on the database matching. When a visible-light camera is used, detailed texture information can be obtained. However, the information is lost in adverse environments such as nighttime and backlight. On the other hand, when a far-infrared camera is used, it is robust to such a bad environment, but the texture information is insufficient. Therefore, we proposed the environment suitable camera selector for the localization in order to make effective use of each advantage. |
