To achieve single-frequency Full-Duplex communication, self-interference rejection of about 110 dB is required, which has been considered practically impossible for mobile devices. The authors have been investigating the effect of antenna location and surrounding structures on the coupling between the transmitting and receiving antennas in order to achieve the same frequency full duplex in vehicle communications. When investigating the influence of surrounding objects by electromagnetic field analysis using the FDTD method, the amount of memory used and the increase in calculation time due to the precise modeling of the surrounding structures and the installation of the surrounding objects become problems. Therefore, in this report, the surrounding objects such as cars are modeled simply by radar cross sections, and their validity and computational cost reduction effects are evaluated. First, the projected area at 3.9 GHz was calculated from the cross-sectional area of the car's 26 GHz radar, and a metal plate equal to that area was used as a simple model of the other car. When the analysis was performed with this simplified model in front of the vehicle, and when the analysis was performed with a vehicle model equal to the size of the actual vehicle, the frequency response was generally consistent. By using the simplified model, we were able to reduce the amount of CPU memory used by 26% and the computation time by 33%. |
