Remote Operated Optical Fiber Switching Node and Optical Cross-Connect Function on Concatenated Loop Topology

(in English) Due the popularization of future 5G and Beyond 5G, the concatenated loop topology is being studied as way of realizing high reliability while dealing with unpredictable optical fiber demands. This network configuration requires the flexible switching of optical fibers. In this paper, we propose a remote operated optical fiber switching node that can be installed outdoors and switched by remote control from a central office. We also describe the optical cross-connect function that the remote optical fiber switching node must offer in a concatenated loop topology. The estimated optical insertion loss and necessary quantity of 1 x n optical switches of the proposed remote optical fiber switching node is also described.
