As the theme of "MIMO System Capacity Estimation", the 3rd Propagation Modeling Competition will be held in the Technical committee on Antennas and Propagation. The purpose of this competition is to accurately model and estimate / simulate propagation characteristics for the practical application of the 6th generation mobile communication system (6G). In this paper, we propose a novel MIMO capacity estimation method based on a scale model with visible light, which is a further extension of the method for estimating propagation characteristics using a scale model of the target environment. This system estimates the propagation characteristics from light direction and intensity data by visible light raiser and cameras on an environment model with a relatively high scale ratio created by a 3D printer. By using this proposed system, it is expected to solve the problem of radio wave licensing, which is the biggest problem in propagation measurements, and also to solve dynamic environments and complicated shapes that are difficult to apply by simulation. In the provided indoor environment of 7.5m x 6.2m x 2.6m where a half mirror is mounted on the 1/20 model of the target indoor scenario, we clarify the effectiveness of the proposed system from the number of light reflections and arrival direction at each measurement point are measured using a LED raiser, receiveing sheres, and cameras. |
