A study on application of differential trellis-coded OFDM employing multiple differential detection with channel prediction

(in English) This paper discusses differential orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) for severe time and frequency selectivities.
In order to track time selectivity, differential OFDM employing multiple differential detection with channel prediction suffers from 1) worse required signal to noise power ratio (SNR) due to channel prediction, 2) poor transmission information efficiency due to additional transmitted symbols by inserting synchronization words.
In addition, 3) worse out-of-band emission performance due to OFDM.
This paper discusses differential trellis coded modulation for the item 1), a frame structure of a subcarrier phase offset scheme for the item 2), and overlapped windowing OFDM signal shaping for the item 3).
Finally, computer simulation results confirm that the discussed scheme has good required SNR and transmission information efficiency.
