Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, fifth-generation mobile communications system (5G) has been deployed, and the communications of confidential information in 5G are increasing. Thus, it is important to enhance the 5G network security. As one of the solutions, physical layer security (PLS) is currently attracting attention. We have proposed a PLS system that can achieve high quality transmission and improved security including modulated signals by applying polar codes to chaos modulation. However, because maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) is required in the chaos demodulation, the conventional method suffers from an increase in the amount of computation and the degradation of characteristics under poor channels. To tackle this problem, in this paper, we propose a new polar-code transmission method that reduces the number of candidates of MLSE by making a part of codeword known at the receiver using frozen bits. By improving the estimation accuracy of MLSE, we show that proposed method improves the performance compared to the conventional method by 1.2 dB at block error rate of {10}^{-5} with a code length of 512, and that the complexity of demodulation can be reduced to about 1/4.
