In this paper, the propagation processes and channel model parameters obtained from 60 GHz millimeter-wave (mm-wave) propagation measurements in open square environment in university campus were presented. This study performed double-directional full-azimuth scan propagation channel measurements using a channel sounder capable of fast beam-steering. Using an ultrahigh resolution channel parameter estimation algorithm, multipath components were extracted from the measured data with a delay resolution of 0.01 ns and an azimuth resolution of 0.1°, and then, a clustering algorithm was applied. In addition, to develop quasi-deterministic hybrid channel model including a site-specific nature of the mm-wave channels, the channel model parameters were extracted from the measured data as follows. First, the propagation processes were identified by comparing the measured clusters with the simulation results, then the clusters were classified the clusters related to the interaction with the environment-characterizing large objects and the others into deterministic and random clusters. In addition, large scale and small scale channel parameters were extracted, and compared with those of the existing 3GPP model parameters obtained in similar scenarios. |
