(in English) The response characteristics of dynamical systems to random signals have been studied widely, e.g., in vibration control of structures subjected to wind loads or seismic waves in civil engineering, and in suppression of seizures in the nervous system such as epileptic seizures or Parkinson's disease in medical engineering. The non-Gaussianity of the random signal and the time delay of the system response can be important in such systems, but they are either neglected or only one of them is considered in many studies and their synergistic effects remain unclear due to the difficulty in mathematical treatment. In this study, we consider a simple linear system with a time delay subjected to non-Gaussian colored noise. Despite its simplicity, the time delay makes the system mathematically infinite-dimensional. However, the system can be reduced to a finite-dimension system by applying the Taylor expansion approximation. We investigate and visualize the validity and accuracy of this dimensionality reduction in detail to reveal the characteristics of the original time-delay system, in particular the effect of non-Gaussianity.
