In the measurement of hearing thresholds at very high frequency region used a loudspeaker, the measured data may contain some errors because sound pressure level reaching the ear are seriously affected by a small movement of the head. To provide assurance for the accuracy of hearing threshold, it makes clear the relationship between the SPL and turning of the head. Therefore, we measured the SPL close to pinna at all horizontal angles in the frequency range from 10 kHz to 22 kHz. We used two kinds of HATS (Dummy Head) with different shapes of head and ear in the measurement. From comparisons between the results on two kinds of HATS, we confirmed that the SPL reaching the ear was not only affected by incidence direction of sound, but also head and ear shapes. |
