Shape Optimization of Radome for Waveguide Slot Antenna Aimed at Melting Snow

(in English) In recent years, a novel snowmelt method, heating mortar blocks by microwaves, has been attracted attention. The purpose of this study is to clarify the shape suitable for melting snow, and to design the shape of the radome assuming a mortar block for 1-slot waveguide slot antenna. The FDTD-HTE method, which is a combination of the FDTD method (Finite difference time domain method) and the heat transport equation (HTE), is used for the temperature analysis. The relationship between the radome shape and the temperature distribution on the radome surface is clarified under the condition that the electrical properties of the sand mortar are given to the radome. In addition, from the design results using the topology optimization, some findings are obtained about the ideal shape of the radome for snowmelt.
