[Encouragement Talk] Degree Based Vertex Replication Method for Random Walk in Autonomous Distributed Graphs

(in English) In autonomously distributed graphs, the vertex set placed on a server does not always follow the community structure of the graph data, and thus frequent inter-server communication is a problem when running Random Walk. Therefore, we proposed to replicate vertices so that Random Walkers can walk longer in the same server. When the modularity of the partition is small, replication of higher in-degree/PageRank nodes works well. Evaluation shows that higher in-degree/PageRank nodes is effective when the modularity of partition is greater than 0.04, and that replication of top-1% nodes can reduce the number of communications by 15% when the modularity of the partition is 0.5.
