Utilization of Dynamic Map Data in Cyberspace -- Automatic generation of road feature vector data from point cloud --

(in English) Mitsubishi Mobil mapping system (MMS) is utilized widely for road account book update, maintenance of the road infrastructure such as a tunnel, the bridge and an ADAS and the HD map, as public surveying conformity machine.
In the usage of colored point cloud which is deliverables of MMS, it is figure of the legal books such as road account book appended charts, and now usage of raw data itself is expected.
By dividing the scene at the time of measurement according to the operating environment and understanding the scene by a priori information such as the MMS trajectory, the proposed automated mapping method acquires road feature vectors from the point cloud efficiently. In the evaluation result of the highway of about 9 km, the correct answer rate was 93.1% for the road line and 95.7% for the road shoulder edge in the processing time of about 20 minutes.
