Development of COVID-19 Infection Simulation Model Considering Voluntary Self-Restraint
Ikumi Anda, Nao Ito (NIT, Toyama) CAS2021-86 CS2021-88
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) COVID-19 is still raging in 2022. In Tokyo, a state of emergency has been declared four times by January 2022.
However, the number of stores and people who have responded to the requests and refrained from operations has been decreasing
each time. This may be due to a lack of compensation for lost time and a decrease in fear of the coronavirus. Therefore, it is
important to construct a simulation model that incorporates agents' awareness of whether they will comply with the request for
self-restraint, and to discuss the issue in light of this awareness. In this study, we add restaurants to the infection simulation
model using the SEIRD model, and consumer agents add the degree of self-restraint and the amount of demand for going to
restaurants to the consumer agents. The agents go to the restaurants according to the amount of demand. We compared the total
number of infected people when we changed the degree of self-restraint of the agents included in the demand equation. As a
result, the number of infected people changed with the change in the degree of self-restraint, indicating that we were able to
construct an infection simulation model that considers the awareness of compliance with requests.
