Qualitative data analysis to explore classes of curiosity toward various objects

(in English) It is considered that there are various types of curiosity that people have when they see an object. However, the classification method has not been established. In this study, we explored for a classification of "curiosity about an object". The content of thoughts when looking at various objects that arouse curiosity was obtained by a think-aloud protocol, and analyzed using a methodology based on the grounded theory approach, which is one of the methods of qualitative data analysis. The results suggest the existence of four categories: "thoughts ", "information", "knowledge", and "expectations" about the object. Finally, the limitations and the future directions of the study are discussed.
